CANADA RESEARCH CHAIR IN PROTEOMICS Tier II (Junior Chair)

Memorial University of Newfoundland - Department of Biochemistry.

The Department of Biochemistry is recruiting an outstanding investigator to fill a Tier II Canada Research Chair in Proteomics. Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate Professor level. The search committee are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, a minimum of two years of post-doctoral experience and a proven track record in the area of functional/structural proteomics. Applicants will be expected to establish an active externally-funded research program and contribute to departmental teaching. Expected appointment date is September 1, 2004. The Biochemistry Department has a tradition of externally-funded research programs and has made four appointments in the past two years. We house an amino acid analysis facility, fluorescence and CD spectrometers, scanning calorimeters, real-time PCR and have access to a MALDI TOF mass spectrometer and a 500 MHz NMR spectrometer.
