Student Support Programs is responsible for the development and administration of programs and activities for students, the identification and assessment of emerging campus trends, long range and strategic planning, fostering and supporting campus leadership as it relates to student governments, campus societies and campus policy development for students.
Student Support Programs works closely with students, staff and faculty and the community at large to maximize the quality of student and academic life for students. Student Support Programs is comprised of the following speciality areas:
ANSWERS: The Centre for Student Life
The Centre for Student Life includes the following programs: Leaders
Involved in Further Education (LIFE), Student Ambassador, High School
Connections, Peer Orientation Assistants, Leadership Award Program,
the Orientation Programs for: International, Aboriginal, Transitional,
and Traditional students along with Parents’ Orientation. The Centre
for Student Life also offers: distribution of Canada and Newfoundland
Student Loans, University One Card Program, liquor services and locker
services, and a Wellness Education Program. Inquiries concerning

Wellness Education
Wellness education co-ordinates a broad range of health and wellness services for the campus community. Its’ main programs include the peer health educators and the Student Wellness Committee. Located in the Centre for Student Life the wellness educator works in collaboration with various campus and community organizations to help facilitate wellness promotion at the University. Native Liaison Office
In cooperation with the Labrador Inuit Association, native students are provided a range of services to assist with the university experience. The Native Liaison Office is located at UC-4003and the telephone number is (709)737-2118.
Scholarships, Awards and Financial Aid
Student Affairs and Services administers the Scholarships and Awards Program for the University and emergency financial aid. Inquiries may be made at UC-4018, or by telephone at (709)737-7910.
University Bookstore
The University Bookstore is the on-campus site for text, reference and general reading. The Bookstore carries stationery, school supplies, crested clothing, backpacks and memorabilia. The University Bookstore is located at UC-2006 and the telephone number is (709)737-7440.
Canada Student Loans
Information regarding the Canada Student Loans Program is available from the Student Aid Division, Department of Education, located in Coughlan College, telephone (709)729-4244/5849.
