The CIBS was established in 1994 by the Faculty of Business Administration to help provincial businesses enter the international marketplace. The Centre also facilitates international exchanges for students and faculty and provides them with the opportunity to research issues in international business and trade.
The Centre works with local businesses to enhance their effectiveness within the international business community. Staff at the Centre match skills and programs within the Faculty of Business Administration with a company's needs.
The CIBS develops international student and faculty exchanges which
allow participants to gain experience in foreign business practices and
develop international contacts. The faculty's list of
international exchange sites currently includes universities in
Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the
Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, and the United States.
The Centre also facilitates internships for recent graduates.
International in scope, the internships allow recent graduates to
gain experience with companies located throughout the globe, or with
provincial companies that wish to expand their business on an
international level.
