Upon graduation from Memorial University, Mr. Bradbury served as a commissioned officer in the Canadian Navy before returning to Newfoundland to pursue studies as a chartered accountant, attaining designation in 1980. He was awarded the fellow chartered accountant designation in 2001 for outstanding service to his profession and the community. He worked with Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro for several years, serving as treasurer, controller, director of finance and finally as general manager of finance - Lower Churchill Project. Mr. Bradbury retired in 2012 and formed MGB Professional Services, Ltd., a professional services company.
He has been active in the accounting profession, having served on numerous committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland and served as its president in 2000. He has also served as a member of the board of directors of the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy and for three years as a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). During his tenure on the CICA board, Mr. Bradbury acted as chair of the Audit Committee.
Mr. Bradbury is a past member of the board of directors and treasurer of Masonic Park Senior Citizens Complex, and is a 30-year member of the St. John’s Masonic Lodge, having served three times as president. He is past treasurer of Pearlgate Track and Field Association, and past advisor to Junior Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador.
