Eastern Health Clinical Pastoral Education Program
Focus: Bereavement Care, Palliative Care and End-of-Life Ethics
Clinical Pastoral Education is a training program for people interested in personal spiritual development and professional skill development in caring professions. It is internationally accredited by the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care. For more information about Clinical Pastoral Education and Pastoral Counselling Education go to www.cappe.org
The focus of the Eastern Health CPE Program is Palliative and End-of-Life Care (PEOLC), focusing specifically on the delivery of Bereavement Services, including anticipatory grief and bereavement follow-up, and end-of-life ethical considerations, as well as attention to the interprofessional approach to care. Given the unique palliative care focus of this program bereavement interns will be placed in a variety of settings including palliative care, long-term care, cancer care and community settings.
