Memorial University's Office of Public Engagement offers funding and awards programs to further the goals and objectives of the Public Engagement Framework.

Public Engagement Accelerator Fund

2024-25 Funding Cycle Dates
Fall Round: Opening August 1, 2024. Closing: September 19, 2024. 
Winter Round: Opening December 3, 2024. Closing January 23, 2025.

Memorial's Public Engagement Accelerator Fund offers up to $10,000 to support the initiation or extension of public engagement activities that link to Memorial’s mission.

Quick Start Fund for Public Engagement

2023-24 Funding Cycle Dates
Winter Round Under Review. Notification expected during week of March 25-29.

The Quick Start Fund for Public Engagement offers up to $2500 to support new projects and partnerships such as preliminary meetings, events and service learning projects, that are in keeping with the goals of Memorial’s Public Engagement Framework.

Catalyst Conference Fund for Public Engagement

2023-24 Funding Cycle Dates
Under Review. Notification expected during week of March 25-29.

The Catalyst Conference Fund for Public Engagement offers up to $5000 to help conference organizers include opportunities for public engagement in large events. 

Public Engagement Postdoctoral Fellowship

2023-24 (and 2024-25) Funding Cycles now closed. (Program available every second year). 

The Public Engagement Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PEPDF) is offered by Memorial’s Office of Public Engagement (OPE) in collaboration with a Memorial faculty member or academic unit and participating external organizations

Memorial University’s President's Award for Public Engagement Partnerships celebrates exemplary community-university partnerships that are in keeping with the goals of Memorial’s Public Engagement Framework (PEF).


COVID-19 Quick Start Fund for Public Engagement 

Applicants may apply to regular Quick Start where COVID related response projects are eligible.

The COVID-19 Quick Start Fund (CQS) for Public Engagement offers up to $2500 for projects, partnerships or initiatives that contribute to addressing immediate and long-term needs of COVID-19 and align with Memorial’s Public Engagement Framework.
