Alumni of the Year
The members of Newfoundland's most popular foursome were this year's alumni of the year. Members of Great Big Sea, Alan Doyle, BA'92, Sean McCann, BA '89, Darrell Power, BA'91, B.Ed.'93, and Bob Hallett, BA'90, are symbols of the province rooted in tradition, thoroughly modern, and with much promise for the future. Eaton Society
Four new alumni were awarded membership in the prestigious Eaton Society this year: Ed Delaney, M.Ed. '82, Paul Charles, B.Comm. '72, Millie Rahn, MA '94 and Ross Batson, B. Comm. '64.

Alumni Giving
This year saw the conclusion of the very successful Opportunity Fund campaign and the re-launch of the Annual Fund. Once again, alumni were some of our most generous supporters, with well over $600,000 coming from alumni pledges. Those dollars are already hard at work, funding scholarships, enhancing facilities, supporting faculties and more. For more information, see The Opportunity Fund page.
Alumni coast to coast: Photo gallery
From flipper dinners to curling bonspiels, from one end of the country to the other and beyond the Memorial University Alumni Association had a jam-packed calendar of events this past year. The association has 28 active chapters in Canada (and in Boston), each headed by a volunteer alumnus/a from the region, and they get together as often as they can for luncheons, guest speakers, sporting events and more. This year the chapters also hosted a series of visits from the new president. Here are some photo highlights

Alumni Postcards
There are over 50,000 Memorial alumni living and working across the country and around the world. Many of their stories are told in Luminus magazine, the official alumni magazine published by the Alumni Association.
