Memorial University of Newfoundland is Atlantic Canada's premiere
comprehensive university and one of the region's most important research
facilities. With 16,000 students, 900 faculty and 1,500 administrative
and support staff, it's the largest university in the region.

Memorial is committed to excellence in teaching, research and
scholarship,
and service to the general public.
Undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as diplomas and
certificates
programs are offered through six faculties (Arts, Business, Education,
Engineering, Medicine and Science) and seven schools (Continuing
Education, Graduate Studies, Music, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Education
and Social Work). Each year the graduating class numbers in excess of
2,000 students.
Memorial's research efforts, to a large degree, take advantage of our
adaptation to the mid-North Atlantic location that has shaped its culture
and studies. External funding for research is about $35 million annually
in support of approximately 700 projects; internal funding of nearly $1.4
million supports in excess of 200 more.
