Memorial is committed to excellence in teaching, research and scholarship, and service to the general public.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as diplomas and certificates programs are offered through six faculties (Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Medicine and Science) and seven schools (Continuing Education, Graduate Studies, Music, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Education and Social Work). Each year the graduating class numbers in excess of 2,000 students.

Memorial's research efforts, to a large degree, take advantage of our adaptation to the mid-North Atlantic location that has shaped its culture and studies. External funding for research is about $35 million annually in support of approximately 700 projects; internal funding of nearly $1.4 million supports in excess of 200 more.
