Policy Framework Review
In the spring of 2009, Acting President, Dr. Campbell requested a comprehensive review of the University's Policy Framework Process since, at that time, it had been in place for about two years. Mr. Bruce Gorman, Internal Consultant with the Office of the Vice-President (Administration and Finance), was asked to conduct the review which had the goals of:
- identifying those aspects of the Framework Process which work well
- identifying areas where improvement could be made
- proposing recommendations arising from these
assessments
Mr. Gorman's final Report was submitted to the President pro tempore and the Senior Policy Analyst on October 23, 2009. Then it was vetted by Senior Executive and an Action Plan was developed. Both the final Report and the Action Plan were reviewed by the Board of Regents' Policy Oversight Committee on January 22, 2010.
The Action Plan called for amendments to the Development, Approval and Administration of University Policies Policy. These amendments were approved by the Board of Regents on March 25, 2010.
The full Action Plan will be executed over 2010, with a targeted completion date for fall. Regular progress reports will be made to the President and Senior Executive.
