Gil Shalev

Gil's core areas of interest and research are: Early Modern Philosophy, Rationalism, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Religion. His Masters Thesis research focused on the meaning of 'Certainty' in The Meditations as it is expressed via the Meditator's knowledge of Self vs. his knowledge of God's existence. For his PhD research, he is exploring the Medieval Scholastic roots/background to the Cartesian argument of the the idea of the infinite as proof for the necessary existence of that which is the infinite itself -- God. His main focus will be Duns Scotus, Maimonides and Aquinas.
