Bio: Dr. Peter Trnka, B.A., M.A., Ph.D (1993) University of Toronto, is Associate Professor of Philosophy. Specializing in political philosophy, particularly the thought of Spinoza, Hume, Marx, and Deleuze, he has published articles on Hume on nature (JBSP 1997), experimental empiricism (Angelaki 2001), complexity and systems in Epicurus and Serres (Public 2002), and Canguilhem and subjectivity (JMP 2003); he has also published on the philosophy of big science and law in the biosphere, as well as translations, art criticism, poetry, and food writing. He is currently working on a book on the theatricum philosophicum and a philosophy of the senses.
