Pharmacy 2251 Job Shadowing

Though the class of 2022 will not be completing a PPE in Spring-Summer 2018, they will be completing a job shadowing placement in Winter 2018 as part of their Pharmacy Practice II course (PHAR 2251).

This will take place in the greater St. John’s area on four specific dates (all Thursdays): Jan 25, Feb 15, March 8, March 22 for just three hours each day per student (9:00-12:00 or 1:00-4:00).

The purpose of the shadowing is to give the students a brief, but valuable orientation to a community pharmacy, showing them standard procedures for filling prescriptions, setting up a patient profile, managing inventory, counselling patients, etc.

Students will not be required to complete a full activity manual throughout the shadowing, rather they will bring along a brief activity sheet, with a limited number of standard introductory activities (e.g., reconstitute a suspension, process a refill, etc.). Please consider helping our new students during their first experience in a community pharmacy.
