Vanessa Reid, MSc
I graduated with a BSc in Biology in May of 2011 from Memorial University of Newfoundland. With the hopes of gaining a career that kept me on the Ocean, I completed an Advanced Diploma in Water Quality the fall of 2012. Following a work term, and some casual work with the Aquatic Invasive Species Program at DFO, St. John's, I was offered a Masters opportunity within the program. In December 2016 I completed a MSc in Aquaculture where I studied the ecology and reproductive patterns of the invasive species, Ciona intestinalis, first detected in Newfoundland coastal waters, September of 2012.
Currently I am working in the Snelgrove Lab as Paul's Research Assistant. I participating in everything from field work and data collection to running the Lab in Paul's absence, or updating this website!
When I'm not at work I can be found with one of my two Search and Rescue Teams (Newfoundland Search Dogs & Central Avelon Ground Search and Rescue), hiking/camping with my dog Hank or enjoying a fire and cup of tea.
