The primary role of the Image and Data Analysis Facility (IDAF) is to provide the research community with access to instrumentation and computational resources vital to the process of acquiring, quantifying, qualifying and processing marine scientific imagry data. Tools such as digital microscopy cameras (multi-purpose as well as low light and fluorescence capable), image analysis software for morphometric measurement, high performance compute tools for rapid numerical data analysis, visualization and imagry manipulation. Currently under renovation, the new IDAF will provide enhanced support for access to large data storage arrays via a gigabit network interconnect.
