Memorial University of Newfoundland is embarking on its most ambitious fund-raising project to date -- a $50 million campaign to coincide with the university's 50th anniversary in 1999. This initiative is not about operating Memorial, but instead about positioning the university to be a leader in education in the country, to build on its strengths and provide a complete university experience for its students. The goals of the campaign address urgent needs at both the St. John's and Corner Brook campuses: scholarship and fellowship support, teaching and research initiatives, facilities for health, fitness and recreation, a University Centre for St. John's and a Student Centre Annex at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College. This campaign will take Memorial into the next century. |
