Fast-Track Option

The Fast-Track Option, due to its intense pace, is geared towards students who have an undergraduate degree already completed (or who are going to graduate in the same year they are applying to the Fast-Track Option.) It is a two year degree option. The deadline to apply is March 1st.

A. In addition to having a four year Bachelor's degree completed (comprising of 120 credit hours), applicants must have a minimum degree GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The following courses are required for admission:

B. Students who do not have a degree completed, and will not graduate in the year they are applying to the Fast-Track Option, can apply to the Fast-Track Option under Advanced Standing.

To qualify under Advanced Standing, students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale as well as a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on the following courses:

  • Statistics 2500, or equivalent
  • Biochemistry 1430*, or equivalent
  • Biology 3053*, or equivalent
  • Psychology 1000
  • Six credit hours in English
  • Three credit hours in business
  • Three credit hours in Philosophy 2500-2599 OR Religious Studies 2610
  • Three credit hours in sociology, anthropology or archaeology
  • Three credit hours in political science
  • Six credit hours in electives (any subject) 

*If students do not have Biochemistry 1430 and Biology 3053 completed and wish to complete these courses on-campus at Memorial University, they can contact Memorial University School of Nursing in St. John's or Western Regional School of Nursing in Corner Brook for more information about obtaining permission to register for these courses. NOTE: Pre-requisites, as listed in the University Calendar, for Biology 3053 and Biochemsitry 1430 do not have to be completed for admission purposes into the Fast-Track Option if applicants obtain permission to register for these required courses.

To be eligible for admission into the Fast-Track Option, students must also meet the general admission/readmission requirements to Memorial University.
