Scholarships & Awards
The School of Nursing offers a variety of awards, scholarships
and bursaries to its students, many of whom rely on these to begin
or continue their studies.
We are very grateful to the alumni and friends of the school who
have supported our students. Without their generous support, our
students would face significantly more challenges in attaining
their nursing education.
Through students awards, talent, hard work and leadership are
rewarded. Student awards also make a student's current studies more
affordable and allow for a brighter future. It is our goal to
increase the number of scholarships, awards and bursaries available
to our students to ensure they have a bright future. If you would

There are four types of student awards and each is based on different criteria. You may be interested in supporting a specific type of award and for your convenience we have outlined them below.
Scholarships recognize the achievements of a
student in an academic field. They can be presented to students who
have attained excellence in a specifc nursing field, research
discipline, or other achievements. Scholarships can be awarded at
the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Bursaries are created to ensure that students who
are in financial need can gain access to higher education and
training. The value of a bursary can have a significant impact on
the lives of students who are struggling financially to pay tuition
and other living expenses.
Awards are a wonderful way to celebrate the
accomplishments of students who are excelling within the School of
Nursing, the university or in the community. An award can recognize
student attributes such as community service, leadership, or other
special criteria.
Fellowships allow for the funding of graduate
degree programs and ensure that students can continue to pursue
their cutting-edge research. The ability to offer fellowships helps
to attract the top students to the field of nursing studies.
