Dan Rubin (Canada - NL)
Dan Rubin is a
composer, arranger, and recording artist who has been involved in
developing new approaches to folk and world music over the past
three decades. He has performed and toured internationally with
several prominent folk groups from Western Canada including the
folk quartet FLYING MOUNTAIN and the world music trio NEW EARTH as
well as RUBIN DAN AND THE GIANT CLAMS. More recently Dan has
performed and recorded with the Newfoundland trio, ATLANTIC UNION.
Dan plays a range of stringed instruments, including guitar,
bouzouki, mandolin and fiddle. He is the composer of a dozen new
fiddle tunes in traditional modes and styles, several of which have
been published in fiddle tune collection and journals and, has
