MUN Chamber Choir

The Memorial University of Newfoundland Chamber Choir membership comprises students, faculty and the community at large. First formed in 1975, under Donald F. Cook, the choir has played a key role in the development of choral music in the community through frequent concerts and clinics at MUN School of Music and at various other venues throughout the province. In addition to this, the choir has represented Newfoundland and Memorial University in various national and international tours. The choir has appeared regularly in the international choral festival, Festival500, Sharing the Voices and under the direction of its present conductor, Dr. Douglas Dunsmore, has won several national awards including the National Music Festival Lincoln trophy and two first place finishes in the CBC Amateur Choir Competition. In the spring of 2010, the choir also placed first in the Collegiate Choir category in the newly minted Association of Canadian Choral Communities Amateur Choral Competition.
