How to donate
Memorial University faculty and staff have the opportunity to support United Way Newfoundland and Labrador through automatic payroll deductions.
Annually, faculty and staff receive a package that includes a payroll giving form and addressed envelope. To start automatic payroll deductions, simply complete the form, insert it into the addressed envelope and place it in the internal mail. It is as simple as that!
This convenient method of donation allows you to spread your gift over the entire year and your donation appears on your T4 slip so that you don’t have to keep track of a tax receipt.
Each year, you will have the opportunity to review your giving commitment when you receive your payroll deduction package. To maintain, increase or decrease a commitment, the payroll deduction form will need to be completed and returned.
Payroll giving is easy and flexible. While Memorial focuses primarily on the United Way Community fund, you also have the choice to direct your donation to one of the focus areas that make up the Community Fund, or direct your donation to a specific Canadian registered charity. If there is a cause that is near and dear to you, just identify the cause along with its registered charitable number and United Way will ensure your donation goes to this specific organization.
In addition to payroll deduction, United Way also accepts cash, cheque and credit card donations.
If you did not receive a payroll deduction package and are interested in donating, please contact Karen Kennedy, co-chair, Memorial University United Way Campaign at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support.
