How to donate

Memorial University employees can make donations through convenient payroll deductions, cheque or credit card donations, or special event donations.

No contribution is too small; every donation makes a difference. There are several ways to donate:

  1. Online donation: go to www.unitedwaynl.ca and click on the 'Donate' tab (under 'Get Involved').
  2. Payroll deduction or cash, cheque or credit card donation: To have your donation deducted from your paycheque, or to donate by cash, cheque or credit card, contact Anne Sinnott (asinnott@mun.ca) or Mike Murphy (mjmurphy@mun.ca).
  3. Event contribution: Hold a fundraising event to benefit United Way and donate the proceeds by contacting Anne or Mike (see above) for a form.

Direct your donation

As a service to donors, the United Way will accept designations so you can specify exactly where you would like your contribution to go. This includes the United Way Community Fund and UW-funded agencies, as well as all Canadian registered charities.

To designate your contribution, please select this option on the online pledge form or complete the back of the paper pledge form (including the Charity Registration Number) which you can get from Anne or Mike (see above).

The Canada Revenue Agency has a searchable database of all registered charities in Canada, including those based in Newfoundland and Labrador. These listings include the Charity Registration Number for that group.

Students, alumni, retirees and others

Please contact Anne or Mike (see above) to get a paper pledge form.
