STATUS OF NEGOTIATIONS, EVENING OF MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2000

In negotiations today, the MUNFA Negotiating Committee presented a revised salary proposal, in combination with a statement of our positions on outstanding monetary issues.

The administration negotiators withdrew to consider this set of proposals and, this evening, responded with a salary proposal of their own, which we are studying.

In the past two days, in addition to the matters mentioned in Negotiating News #29, the Administration has withdrawn its proposal to implement a cap on its insured benefits costs and has withdrawn its proposal that distance education teaching be compensated on a sliding scale. The current distance education compensation rate of $106 per student will continue to be paid. Travel funds will remain at $600 per ASM per year.
