Saturday Oct. 22nd, 7-9 p.m., D.F. Cook Recital Hall

Saturday Night's all right for ...writing? You bet it is! Join us for a compelling night out at 'Writers in the Round'. Picture it, four local writers onstage, who have slaved over their keyboards and brought their ideas to fruition and into our lives, and now you, yes you, get a chance to step up the microphone and ask the question that has been burning in your head forever. No pressure though, you could come for the sheer entertainment value of this one!

Have you ever wondered how that idea that floats around in your head can become a book on a shelf or a television show? Well, here's your chance to find out. Think of it as Inside the Actors studio for writers.

Hosted and moderated by the ever charming and talented Amy House, we welcome four great writers to the stage. The incredible Andy Jones. Andy is a Newfoundland institution who appears in sell out shows across the country because audiences know...he will have them in stitches. He is a writer, actor and comedian, and we are thrilled he will be here. Next up, multi-award winning Jessica Grant, who has become the newest darling of the Canadian literary scene. With her novel "Come, Thou Tortoise. She was a 2011 writer-in-residence at Memorial and a current professor, and we are so happy she is here for this event. Next up, our Newfoundland and Labrador literary legend, Kevin Major. His collective works are an institution in the Canadian literary landscape. To have him as part of our panel is a tremendous honour. And rounding out the group, perhaps you may have heard of a TV show called Republic of Doyle? Perry Chafe, co-creator and writer will be joining us for the evening to give the scoop on writing for TV and keeping Jake Doyle in trouble.

Mark your calendar everyone. It's a Saturday night, so it's just a perfect evening out. Grab your friends or make a date, it's gonna be a time.

Admission is free and to reserve your seat, tickets will be available at the door! Can't wait to see you there!
