Friday, October 29, 2010, All over the St. John's campus

As part of Kindness Friday, volunteers will be outside campus buildings encouraging motorists to be kind to the environment (and to their wallets!) by turning off their engines while waiting. T The purpose of the Idle Free campaign is to educate drivers on
the environmental and economic benefits of not idling their vehicles
while stopped. Student volunteers will approach vehicles stopped in
front of the Childcare Centre, the Education building, and the Arts &
Administration building to explain to drivers that they are in an
Idle-Free zone. The students will also be offering motorists handouts
that outline the benefits of not letting their engines idle.
