Who We Are

Maritime History Publications, established in 1989, operates out of Memorial University of Newfoundland. Our editorial office serves the International Maritime Economic History Association (IMEHA).

A membership to the IMEHA entitles you to the association's semi-annual publications. The IMEHA also sponsors conferences and provides assistance for the study of maritime history. The most recent major conference was the 5th International Congress of Maritime History in Greenwich, England in June 2008. The 6th Congress will be held in Ghent, Belgium in 2012. Additional information will become available early in 2009.

NOTICE TO ALL SUBSCRIBERS TO THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MARITIME HISTORY

In order to meet some significant challenges over the next few years, the International Maritime Economic History Association has reluctantly decided to raise subscription rates for 2009. This marks only the second time in twenty years that the Association has taken this step, which has been brought about by increased printing and mailing costs for our publications.

The new fees effective 1 January 2009 will be:

Individuals:          US $ 75
Institutions:          US $125

These new fees will continue to include two issues of the International Journal of Maritime History (including surface postage outside of North America). Your subscription will also bring you membership in the International Maritime Economic History Association and three volumes of Research in Maritime History free of charge each year.

We apologize for having to take this step, but we hope that subscribers will recognize that a subscription to the International Journal of Maritime History still represents one of the true bargains in scholarly publishing.

We are anxious for suggestions, comments, and opinions as to the quality of our pages. You can reach us by E-Mailing : mhp@mun.ca.
