Scope and Content: This series was copied in its entirety. Volumes 1-2, 6-7 are miscellaneous collections of oaths and declarations, including the early forms of notes of protest and orders for survey, and arrivals at the port, in the periods March 1853-Sept. 1859, Nov. 1861-Dec.1871, Aug. 1882-May 1885. Volumes 3, 8, 14, 21, 27, 28, 30, 33 are registers of shipping at Bahia in the periods Jan. 1866-Oct. 1872, 1883-1915. Volume 4, 16 are Naval Court proceedings at Bahia in the periods Dec. 1866-Sept. 1889 and Feb. 1892-May 1902. Volume 5 is notes of protest at Vice-Consulate of Aracaju, April 1878-Mar.1885. Volume 9, 11-13, 17-20, 22-24, 26, 29-32 are notes of protest at Bahia in the period Jan. 1886-Feb. 1913. Volumes 10, 15, 25 are orders for survey (and some protests connected to the surveys) with reports, tenders, etc. in the period March 1886-1910.
