Adm. Hist/Bio. Sketch: Thomas Street Bird and Joseph Bird were merchants of Sturminster Newton, Dorset, England. They conducted trade from 1800 to 1870 on the South and West coasts of Newfoundland and on the coast of Labrador.
Scope and Content: These papers are a sub-series of the Great Britain Chancery. Masters' Exhibits. Volumes 69-71 of the Ferrar Exhibit contain the records of Thomas Street Bird and Joseph Bird, merchants of Sturminster Newton, Dorset and Newfoundland. The records consist of accounts and inventories for their business in Newfoundland from 1824-1844.
