Bentley April 11, 1816 "A succession of events has directed the public attention to the fate of family of Forrester . . . By uncommon success in business he became one of the wealthiest men in the Country. He was a man of business, of strong passions, & such a man as his condition might readily form. Upon his prosperity he became intemperate, & severe in his family & irregular . . . . One of his sons leaped from the windows of a Cabin into the sea. Another has died this day infirs after a few hours illness . . . The whole eccentric." |
