The Memorial English Student Society (MESS) is a student-run organization committed to providing a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff who have a penchant for English language and literature. We operate primarily on an open-door policy, and welcome drop-in visits anytime for essay help, advice on classes, or simply joining in the conversation.
We have several literature-focused events in the works for this year, so keep checking our website for updates. We also host games nights and hold fundraiser bake sales and book sales. Primarily, we serve as a hub for English students to meet new people, get advice, and discuss important topics, like comparing Batman to Superman or the perils of comma splicing. In addition, we have an excellent resource library for students looking to borrow anthologies, Shakespeare plays, and other textbooks to use during the semester.
We love hearing from you and are always looking for new ideas. Feel free to suggest content by contacting us.
