Getting here - St. John's

Travelling by plane to St. John’s – St. John’s is home to an international airport that serves all the airlines flying in and out of the province. The airport is only a 10-minute drive from the university (a $20 taxi ride).

You can arrange a flight to Newfoundland from many airports around the world. A flight from London, England to St. John’s takes about five hours and from Vancouver, it would take approximately eight hours.

Driving from the airport – Leaving the airport, turn left onto Portugal Cove Rd, go through one set of lights and at the next turn right onto Higgins Line. Go through one set of traffic lights then turn left at the T-intersection onto Allandale Rd. Through one set of lights then right at the next onto Prince Philip Dr. On your right is a sign welcoming you to Memorial. Turn left at the next set of lights to access the south side of campus or right to access the north. Consult the campus map to locate the specific building you would like to visit.

Travelling by ferry to Argentia – Once the ferry docks in Argentia, you can take Route 100 past the communities of Dunville and Freshwater. This route meets the Trans-Canada Highway – drive east on the TCH to St. John’s.

Driving to St. John's on the Trans Canada Highway – Driving east on the TCH, take exit labeled Allandale Rd. Turn right at the yield sign onto Allandale Rd., down the hill through three sets of lights, and turn right at the next intersection onto Prince Philip Drive. On your right is a sign welcoming you to Memorial. Turn left at the next set of lights to access the south side of campus or right to access the north. Consult the campus map to locate the specific building you would like to visit.

Travelling on the bus – The province’s private bus line makes regular stops at the Smallwood Centre to pick up and drop off students from out of town.
