Have you ever wondered how engineering can help charity? On Tuesday, Nov. 30, Memorial’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science will host a public presentation by Dr. Leonard Lye. The presentation will start at 7:30 p.m. in the main lecture theatre of the S. J. Carew Building (room EN-2006), on Memorial University’s St. John’s campus. Parking is available in Lot 16, next to the University Centre on Arctic Avenue. Admission is free and all are welcome. A reception will follow.
Dr. Leonard Lye is an award-winning professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University. He will talk about how he and other volunteers use engineering to help the St. John'sChapter of the Tetra Society of North America, an award-winning charity, create assistive devices for people with disabilities. Speaking of Engineering is hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial Universityand the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador.
