The Honourable Dr. A.M. House Lecture on Literacy was created through a generous donation by Dr. A. Maxwell House who at the time was the province's Lieutenant-Governor. The series was inaugurated in 1999 and aims to promote literacy and awareness of literacy issues in this province. The fifth and final lecture in this series will be given by Dr. Patrick O'Flaherty, professor emeritus (English), on Tuesday, March 30th at 7 p.m. in Room E-5004 in the G.A. Hickman Building, located on Memorial's St. John's campus. The title of Dr. O'Flaherty's lecture is Towards an Understanding of our "Illiterate" Ancestors: A Rejoinder and Reflection. A reception will follow in room E-5005. All are welcome.
