REF NO.: 189
|SUBJECT:||Memorial University still accepting applications for fall enrolment|
|DATE:||March 17, 2004|
Memorial University is still accepting applications for fall 2004. Maire O’Dea, Memorial’s deputy registrar, said that although March 1 is the official deadline to apply for entry to the university, applications will be considered after that date.
"We stress the importance of the March 1 deadline to prospective students because it allows for applications to be processed in time for registration," said Ms. O’Dea. "Students who apply after this date and meet all eligibility requirements can still be accepted, however, they may have a more limited course selection than those who apply earlier."
Sheila Devine, Memorial’s director of Student Recruitment, stressed that students should be aware that while the deadline for applying for general admission to the university can be flexible, deadlines for entry into certain degree programs are strictly adhered to by the university. "Direct-entry programs such as nursing, music, fine arts, kinesiology, physical education and recreation also require the submission of a specific application form in addition to the general application," she said. Students are advised to contact their department of interest for further details.
