SUBJECT: Memorial University’s Student Volunteer Bureau to recognize top volunteers

On Wednesday, March 24, Memorial University 's Student Volunteer Bureau will host a Student Volunteer Day ceremony. This event recognizes the exemplary volunteer efforts of Memorial’s students, faculty, and staff, clubs, societies and centres. Special guests include: Lt. Gov. Edward Roberts; Penelope Rowe, Community Services Council; vice- president (academic) Dr. Michael Collins; dean, Student Affairs and Services, Dr. Lilly J. Walker and David Kirkland.

  A number of awards will be presented at this ceremony including Volunteer of the Year, Staff/Faculty of the Year, Volunteer Centre of the Year, Volunteer Club/Society of the Year, Volunteer Residence of the Year and the David Kirkland Leadership Award. The ceremony will begin at 12 noon in the Junior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall, located on Memorial’s St. John’s campus. Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives.
