Media representatives are invited to send representatives to a news conference being held to announce research funding for Memorial University. John Efford, minister of natural resources; Carolyn Bennett, minister of state (public health); Dr. Axel Meisen, president Memorial University and Dr. Ken Kao, university delegate for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) will host a media conference and lab tour at Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine, Health Sciences Centre, on Friday, March 5. The event takes place from 11:15 a.m. to noon and will be held in Room H-5340. A funding announcement regarding health research projects in Newfoundland and Labrador will be made, followed by a laboratory tour with Dr. Terry Lynn Young, who is researching hereditary deafness in Newfoundland families.
