SUBJECT:	Free family outdoor fun in store at Pippy Park’s Winterfest this weekend

The Pippy Park Promotions Committee and the Pippy Park Commission invite you to bundle up the youngsters on the very last day of winter for some free family fun at Pippy Park’s annual Winterfest event.

On Sunday, March 20, from 2-4 p.m. at the park’s North Bank Lodge (across from the Fluvarium) and surrounding areas, everyone is invited to enjoy the best of what winter – and Pippy Park – has to offer.

Tramp or ski through the woods or on the trails with free snowshoe and ski rentals. Munch on free doughnuts and warm up with free hot chocolate. Play free, super-fun snow games dreamed up by the Community Recreation Leadership class at the College of the North Atlantic. And much, much more – all for free.

Did you notice the free part?

And don’t worry if the sun’s stronger rays have melted away too much of the white stuff. If there’s no snow, Winterfest is still a go.

However, in the event of rain or heavy snow, please check with the event line at 576-5690 on the morning of March 20 for a cancellation notice.

Free parking at Confederation Building is encouraged, due to popularity of the event.
