SUBJECT: Bridge a Widening Gap in the Modern Workplace A Panel Discussion
DATE: March 30, 2010

Memorial University’s Alumni Affairs and Development, along with the Gardiner Centre and the Faculty of Business Administration, are hosting a panel discussion on Tuesday, April 13, on multiple generations in the workplace.
Leading different age groups in the workplace isn’t new. What is new is the magnitude of differences between them and the different perspectives on issues like work ethic, leadership and authority.
It is essential to understand and value this diversity, so we can benefit from today’s multifaceted workforce. Guest speakers will include Travor Brown (professor, Faculty of Business, Memorial University), Rob Shea (assistant Professor, Faculty of Education, Memorial University), Jocelyn Perry (vice- president, finance and chief financial officer, Newfoundland Power Inc.) and Bradley George (director of provincial affairs, Newfoundland and Labrador branch of Canadian Federation of Independent Business).

            Date:              Tuesday, April 13, 2010
            Time:              7 – 9 p.m.
Location:      Reid Theatre, Arts and Administration Building, Memorial University
Cost:              Admission is free, light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Details:          RSVP is required. Parking is available surrounding the Arts and Administration Building and in Lot 18 in front of the QEII Library. This event is sponsored by the Gardiner Centre.
