SUBJECT:	Significant investment for new research chair at Memorial University

Note to editors:

Dr. Christopher W. Loomis, president and vice-chancellor pro tempore, of Memorial University, will host a news conference tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 10, to announce a significant investment to create a new research engineering chair at Memorial.

Participating in this event with Dr. Loomis will be Sir Ian Wood, chairman of the Wood Group; Glenn Janes, chief executive officer of the Research and Development Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador; Kathy Dunderdale, provincial minister of natural resources; and Dr. Shawn Kenny, an assistant professor of engineering at Memorial.

The event will take place at 2 p.m. in room EN-4002 of the S.J. Carew (Engineering) Building.

A reception will follow.
