SUBJECT:	National Maritime College of Ireland to visit the Fisheries and Marine Institute

Note to Editors:

John Clarence, head of the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) and Cmdr. Mark A. Mellett, associate head, NMCI/Commandant Naval College, will visit and tour the Fisheries and Marine Institute on June 4-5, 2008.

During the visit they will meet with Executive Director Glenn Blackwood to discuss ways they can partner with the Institute on various projects and to seek the institute’s expertise in capacity building and research and development. They will also tour the Centre for Marine Simulation (CMS), and investigate opportunities for ROV training.

On Thursday, the delegation will tour the Offshore Safety and Survival Centre in Foxtrap.
