SUBJECT:	Marine Institute graduation to take place June 13, 2003

The Marine Institute's 2003 graduation ceremonies will take place at the Marine Institute on June 13, 2003 at 3:30 pm. The media are invited to attend.

This year's ceremonies will feature speakers Dr. Axel Meisen, president and vice-chancellor, Leslie O'Reilly, MI executive director, David Vardy, director, Public Policy Research Centre, MUN and a student address by Finn Johnsen, a diploma of technology graduate in nautical science. The Marine Institute will also release its Annual Review for 2002-2003.

Certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas will be presented in the following disciplines: aquaculture, coastal zone management, food production quality, food safety, marine diesel mechanic, offshore structural steel/plate fitter, marine engineering, marine environmental, marine engineering systems design, nautical science, and naval architecture.

The Marine Institute will hold a reception following the graduation ceremony. The Marine Institute is located at 155 Ridge Road in St. John's.
