SUBJECT:     The Honourable Paul Martin to participate in the 37th annual Business Day Conference

Note to editors:
Members of the media are advised that the 37th annual Business Day Conference will take place on Friday, February 22, 2002 at the Fairmont Newfoundland Hotel. The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. and close at 3:30 p.m. Each year the graduating business class organizes a conference for both students and the business community. The theme for this year's conference is Weathering the Storm-Charting a Course for Success. The following business leaders are scheduled for presentations:

9:30 - 10:00 a.m. Glenn Stanford, Vice President of Hockey Operation (St. John's Maple Leafs) and General Manager of St. John's Sport Entertainment
10:00 - 10:30 a.m. Jamie King, President of Intrignia Solutions
11:00 - 11:30 a.m. Cathy Bennett, Owner/Operator of Bennett Restaurant Ltd. (McDonald's)
11:30 - 12:00 a.m. Rick Flynn, Vice President of Business Development for Air Canada Regional Inc.
1:45p.m. The Honourable Paul Martin, Minister of Finance
 
Moderator Chris Griffiths, President and founder of Garrison Guitars

Media are invited to attend all or part of the conference. Media outlets will be provided with one complimentary ticket that will cover the cost of luncheon.
