Integrated voicemail allows clients to have telephone voicemail sent directly to their inbox. When someone leaves you a voicemail, the system sends you an email with the message attached. You can retrieve messages using either your phone or by accessing your email.
If you have both of these services and you want the Integrated Voicemail service, contact the ITS Service Desk at 864-4595 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Once you listen to a voicemail from your inbox, it will be considered read on your phone (i.e. the "message waiting indicator" or light on your phone will turn off).
- When you delete an email containing a voicemail attachment, the voicemail message will also be deleted from your phone (and vice versa).
- When you move an email containing a voicemail attachment to a folder in your email client, it will be deleted from your phone.
Additional Information - Access to Voicemail Records and Privacy Protection
With Integrated Voicemail, an additional voicemail record is created. This record resides in your email as well as on your phone.
As with all University records, employees are required to protect personal information from unauthorized access. Appropriate security measures need to be taken whenever handling personal information.
Additionally, as with all records in the custody and control of the University, voicemail records may be subject to requests under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act by members of the university community or the public.
Voicemail messages delivered as a file attachment in email are considered an email message. These records should be managed in the same way as other emails sent and received using Memorial's email systems.
