From November 8th to November 13th, the Department of Computing and Communications (C&C ) will be remotely updating the McAfee Antivirus software on University computers. The update will occur quickly and most clients will never notice a change. In some cases however, the McAfee Shield icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen may briefly disappear and reappear. If it does not reappear it will return the next time you login or restart your computer. Even in cases where the icon disappears, McAfee VirusScan will continue working in the background.
