One way to learn about life in a new country is to get involved on campus or in the community. Here are ways to get involved:
Join our Coffee Club
Coffee Club is held every Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (ends at 4:30pm in the Summer) in the IO Social Room, Corte Real 1000H.
The purpose of Coffee Club is to relax after a busy week and connect with friends. Coffee Club is very informal and is open to the campus community, including spouses and alumni. One of the best ways to battle homesickness and adjust to life on campus is to socialize. At Coffee Club there is always interesting conversation, lots of laughter and refreshments. You will have the opportunity to learn about Newfoundland and hear fascinating stories from other international students.
If you have questions, want to suggest an activity or volunteer with Coffee Club please contact Juanita.
Join our Discussion Group
Discussion Group is held every Wednesday in the IO Social Room, Corte Real 1000H from 4pm - 5pm. In the summer we meet earlier, from 3:30-4:30 pm.
Discussion Group is informal and open to the campus community, including spouses and alumni. If you are interested in meeting new people, sharing your experiences or just relaxing with a cup of coffee and listening to the conversation you are welcome to attend.
Each week a new topic is selected but there is no guarantee we stick to it, we just like to see where the conversation will go! If you have questions or would like to suggest a topic for Discussion Group please email Juanita.
