Sexual Harassment Office
(Contractual Position to March 6, 2015)

The Sexual Harassment Office offers the informal and formal resolution of sexual harassment concerns and complaints as per the University Wide Procedures and also provides education and awareness tailored to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff of Memorial University.  The Sexual Harassment Office reports to the President of the University and Memorial University of Newfoundland's Sexual Harassment Board.

DUTIES
The successful applicant will be required to perform highly responsible secretarial and administrative duties requiring a significant degree of discretion, initiative and independent judgment in support of the Sexual Harassment Advisor and the Sexual Harassment Office. Responsibilities include ensuring a high level of proactive personal and office support; contributing to a highly effective and efficient office and the effective planning and delivery of services; receiving calls and inquiries and scheduling appointments for complainants and respondents of sexual harassment; interacting with and scheduling for sexual harassment mediators and investigators; receiving and interacting with complainants, respondents and other visitors of the sexual harassment office; acting proactively to ensure a high level of support and client service is provided where the issues are very confidential in nature;  preparing sexual harassment correspondence in a highly efficient and timely manner meeting the timeframes as set out in the Sexual Harassment Procedures; compiling related materials; drafting correspondence; organizing meetings, appointments, accommodations and travel; preparing agendas; attending meetings of the Sexual Harassment Board, recording and transcribing minutes and conducting required follow-up as requested by the Advisor and/or the Chair of the Board; typing letters, forms, reports and other documents from rough draft; replying in person, by telephone or written correspondence to enquiries; developing PowerPoint presentations and managing the Advisor's schedule; assisting with the coordination of training, workshops and information sessions; attending information sessions to distribute promotional information; monitoring and reconciliation of monthly account statements; and performing other related duties as required.          

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (1-3 years) in secretarial work; graduation from high school supplemented by courses in business education or secretarial science, or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and strong organizational, written and oral communication skills are required. The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.

SALARY                                  $33,269 - $46,648 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
