TECHNOLOGIST (REFRIGERATION) (BAND LEVEL 6)

DUTIES
Under general supervision, the successful applicant will perform skilled work in the repair, maintenance, design and construction of a variety of refrigeration equipment and systems for all University departments and divisions. Duties include maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment for experimental, instructional, and research purposes. Work requires the performance of troubleshooting, where the employee is expected to evaluate equipment, resolve technical problems and modify procedures; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) at a Journeyperson level in the field of assignment within a University or related environment; graduation from high school supplemented by the successful completion of an approved Apprenticeship program in refrigeration; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in the work; the ability to work from schematic drawings or written instructions and to exercise judgement in determining techniques and methods; as well as skill in the care and use of test equipment and tools common to the assignment.
SALARY $40,534 - $56,841 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
