INTERMEDIATE CLERK STENOGRAPHER (BAND LEVEL 2)

DUTIES
The successful applicant will be required to perform moderately difficult and varied clerical work which involves some independent judgement. Duties include responding to enquiries from students, staff, faculty and the general public concerning Economics programs and general enquiries; coordinating email contact with students and faculty using the general departmental account; inputting grades into the Banner Student Administration System and using the system to provide faculty with class lists in Excel; generating and distributing departmental mail to the university community, faculty, staff, students and outside agencies; organizing deferred exam requests and coordinating with the deferred exam committee on issues; assisting with typing and photocopying of course outlines; operating a test bank for multiple choice questions; providing support for faculty members; maintaining a filing system; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (1-3 years) in moderately difficult and varied clerical work; graduation from high school, supplemented by courses in business education; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills; excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage time to meet departmental deadlines. Experience with Banner Administration System would be an asset.
SALARY $31,096 - $43,604 pro rated per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
