DUTIES
The successful applicant will provide proactive administrative support and coordination to the Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Duties include overseeing the daily operations of the discipline's education programs; providing support to discipline committees; monitoring student and resident progress and notifying relevant faculty of problems; development of remediation programs; managing and developing education policies and procedures with faculty input; monitoring and ensuring timely completion of all student or resident in-training sessions; ensuring student library and student files are accurate and up to date; developing and coordinating academic activities such as academic half-day, journal club and faculty development sessions; coordinating all written examinations; developing and arranging orientation programs for residents and students; liaising with undergraduate and postgraduate medical education offices and Medical Education Scholarship Centre; ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and preparing accreditation materials; ensuring adherence to Faculty of Medicine and University education policies and procedures; generating reports as requested; following up on program evaluation results and recommending changes; creating and implementing a communication strategy between the discipline, students, residents and preceptors; ensuring the residency application process is organized; aiding students in completion of CaRMS application; maintaining department web site; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in program management and in providing administrative support in academic programs; completion of most university level courses towards a degree in adult education, business administration, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and take initiative as well as use analytical and problem solving skills to identify resources to solve problems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Banner Finance required. Familiarity with One45 and Desire2Learn and the examination procedure of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada would be considered assets.
SALARY $40,534 - $56,841 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
