An annual reception offering an opportunity for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to demonstrate and celebrate the accomplishments of our colleagues and the important contributions of the Faculty to the life of Memorial University as a whole.
This event honours authors who have published books in the past academic year, recipients of the Dean’s Awards, research grant recipients and those faculty members who have received special recognition in the past academic year. The William J. Kirwin Award for retiree recognition is also presented at this event as is the Peter Cashin Prize.
Electronic and print material are accepted. However, all submitted material must be peer-reviewed or published by an academic or trade publisher (and have an ISBN.) No self-published books shall be eligible.
The 2017 Fine Crowd reception will take place Thursday March 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Junior Common Room, Gushue Hall.
