In order to address the overwhelming emails sent to the artslist for events, seminars and conferences, the Dean’s Office has initiated a weekly Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Newsline instead of individual emails for each such item.
Those responsible for promoting such events should email information including the time, place, and brief details to Marina Thistle (email@example.com) in the Dean’s office by noon on the Friday preceding the event. Marina will then collate a weekly digest of events based on these emails and will send out the week’s Arts Newsline on the following Monday morning, organized chronologically. Posters will not be included on this digest - it will be strictly text. Reminders of individual events will no longer be sent out.
It is hoped that this approach will help to eliminate the large volume of email and improve the overall promotion of events. Those individuals who are aware of items in advance can send details to Janet Harron (firstname.lastname@example.org) for inclusion on the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences webpage calendar, the today.mun calendar and our Facebook page. Marina will review the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences webpage calendar for events each Friday and include these on the digest for the week they are scheduled to occur.
Information or requests from the Dean will not be included on this digest. Information regarding research deadlines and grants will be sent separately as well.
